All in all, a two year test conducted on over fifteen hundred adult males found that more than 80 percent of them kept, or in fact, increased their hair mass from the neckline. This original experiment began more than ten years ago, and it was reported that the initial test subjects actually maintained those great results for four years after the trial was completed. The 1mg of finasteride was manufactured under the brand name, Propecia.
A further result of taking propecia, is that it alters the levels of testosterone in the body, and therefore is available only on prescription. The opinion of a doctor must be asked for and the prescribed dosage followed explicitly. Hormonal balances can be fragile and keeping to a regular dose helps to ensure stability.
The loss of hair might not be an indication that you should start taking the hair loss pill immediately. There is a natural three phase process of hair loss and renewal that occasionally, can be literally shocked into an early hair loss stage. This apparently spontaneous shedding, also called Telegen Effluvium, is a temporary condition and usually leads to replacement hair growth.
Propecia treatment is a very gradual procedure and requires patience on the part of the user. One must not count on results for approximately three months, with usual regrowth not showing until the 8th month. Maximum results do not appear until at least one year after commencement of the treatment.
