My sister and I planned a baby shower party for 1 of our nieces. We made the decision to have it in the fellowship area of the neighborhood church because it was a large guest list. We had the baby shower party on a Saturday afternoon. We did want to have a few decorations for baby shower to give the room a celebratory feel. There's a cradle that's passed to each new mother for the baby to sleep in for the first four to 6 weeks. This cradle was my mother's. We determined that we would use the bassinet as the middle of our baby shower decorations.
The fellowship section has large round tables that seat ten people. We moved one table off by itself to be the presents table. We covered this table with a smooth pink table cloth; our niece has found out she is having a girl. We set the bassinet in the center of the table. We decided to use our presents for the baby shower decorations. I had purchased a pink and white infant blanket, which we hung over the side of the cradle. We pinned several rattles and other infant toys to the blanket using diaper pins. We then showed the little outfits that my sister had bought. We finished the baby shower decorations for the presents table by putting a big stuffed bear into the cradle. It's so much fun to decorating for a baby shower!
For the food service table we had an arrangement of fresh cut flowers from the community florist. She used silky pink carnations, baby's breathe and daisies for the display. We determined that no other baby shower festive decorations needed to be placed on this table. We did have pink napkins that we put on this table, along with a cake that was decorated with a stork holding a little doll in a pink frosting blanket.
We had also gotten a corsage for our niece and 1 for every of the new grandmothers to be. We felt that the room looked very good and we wouldn't have to spend a solid deal of time cleaning up baby shower decorations due to the fact that they would all be sent home as presents to our niece.
We had a big turn out for the baby shower. My niece received quite a few very nice gifts. She was glad that we had the baby shower party in a space that was not cramped. As she progresses with the maternity she is feeling more claustrophobic. Within 30 moments after the baby shower was over the fellowship section was cleaned up and we were on our way home.
